Hey all it's that's time of the week again. You know that time when you can read the brilliant and thought provoking meanderings of yours truly. Who needs those talk shows on ABC, CNN, Fox News, or NBC when you can read this. This week I touch on Charlie Rangel, Tim Scott, The Black Farmers Settlement and more.
Hey all it's that's time of the week again. You know that time when you can read the brilliant and thought provoking meanderings of yours truly. Who needs those talk shows on ABC, CNN, Fox News, or NBC when you can read this.
Let's start off with some great news. The House finally passed the Black Farmers Settlement. President Obama will sign it on Wednesday. These farmers have waited 13 years for this. I hope they realize that it may take them 13 years to do the bound to be confusing paperwork to get their share of the loot.
In other great news the Child Nutrition Bill passed. Republicans were weary of this nefarious bill that would needy children the opportunity to eat free lunches at school and make those lunches healthier. They attempted to block it until someone with a heart told them people actually cared about poor children and that blocking this could cost them votes later.
Now the the bad stuff.
Congressman Rangel was censured this past week. A story that I did not run here on AAreports.com. I didn't run it not because it wasn't newsworthy but because I didn't like the man I saw rambling on trying to defend himself. I thought it was just very sad.
The only good news is that after listening to him ramble for more than 10 minutes I invented the BS Translator Device and put the transcript of his news conference after his censure through it. Here are the results:
"... Ah come on guys. All of you have or are doing the same bull**** right now. Why are you picking on me? I mean if you forget the fact that I sunned myself on the beaches of the Dominican Republic in an accidentally tax free villa and used one of my rent controlled apartments in NY for a campaign thus denying someone who truly needed it an apartment I didn't benefit personally from anything.......Give me a ****ing break here.
"
I also put up a poll asking if Charlie Rangel should stay on. You can take that poll here: Should Charlie Rangel Stay
Last but not least Tim Scott has decided not to join the Congressional Black Caucus
His official statement reads: "While I recognize the efforts of the CBC and appreciate their invitation for me to caucus with them, I will not be joining at this time. My campaign was never about race," said Scott.
"My campaign has been about themes that unite all Americans--restoring the American dream by reducing the tax burden, decreasing government interference in the private sector, and restoring fiscal responsibility, and I don't think those ideals are advanced by focusing on one group of people......"
Now lets put the through the BS Translator Device and see what comes out.
".......If I join the CBC the Tea Party kooks who put me in office will cut my nuts off and feed them to me. Sorry buddy but getting in and staying in office is more important than even pretending that African Americans have legitimate issues. Ah damn I meant Americans not African Americans. We are all one people. Right?"
Well that's it for this week. Please let me see your repsponses to this here, Facebook, or Twitter.
